<description lang=en>When the European arrived in the Lesser Antilles they have been in contact with their Amerindian inhabitant they will call "Caribs". By this way, an important text corpus concerning those peoples will be constituted between the fifteen and the eighteen centuries. Since the archaeological researches beginnings in the archipelago until today, establish a link between those historic texts and the archaeological findings have been one of the the archaeologists main objectives. We will present here a review of the works about this question. By this way we will be able to observe the progressive transformation of the relationship between the archaeologists and the text sources and this of their utilization mode. This transformation is related to an historians and archaeologist discussion concerning the European text about Lesser Antilles Amerindian real value.</description>
<description lang=fr>Lors de leur arrivée dans les Petites Antilles les Européens ont été au contact de populations amérindiennes qu'elles ont dénommées "Caraïbes". Ainsi, un important corpus de texte concernant ces groupes a été constitué, entre les XVé et XVIIIé siècles. Dès les débuts de l'archéologie dans l'archipel et jusqu'à aujourd'hui un des enjeux importants de la recherche a été de tenter d'établir un lien entre ces sources historiques et les découvertes effectuées au cours des fouilles. C'est un bilan de ces recherches que nous présenterons ici. Par la mise en évidence des grandes étapes qu'a connues le traitement de cette question, il nous sera possible d'observer la modification progressive du rapport des archéologues aux sources textuelles ainsi que celle de leur mode d'utilisation. Une modification qui s'est effectuée en parallèle d'une discussion, menée tant par les historiens que par les archéologues, sur la valeur des textes des Européens traitant du peuplement amérindien des Petites Antilles.</description>
