Record labels have had a strong influence on the spreading of Rastafarian faith and on the music that rose from the movement. In Jamaica, Rastafarianism is a powerful touristic magnet. Tourist coming to Jamaica and hoping to discover its roots are bringing tangible resources to the economy of the island. I'm looking into the impact of these economic forces on the movement in Jamaica. Finally, I focus on the evolution of the most significant aspect of the movement since it became international during the seventies.</description> <description lang=fr>L'essai examine l'impact de la logique capitaliste sur le mouvement rastafari. Nous considérons particulièrement l'influence des maisons de disque sur l'idéologie et la musique des artistes rasta. Le mouvement rastafari et le reggae exercent un attrait touristique for en faveur de la Jamaïque.
