<description>Linton Gibbon, who was born in Trinidad in 1888 of Irish descent, was the son of a senior Immigration official. He worked on Nelson Island cooking for East .Indian indentured immigrants. He made a voyage to India between 1902-1904 on a sailing ship with a group of repatriating Indians. This interview, conducted by his grand-daughter, is partly transcribed and analysed in the following paper; Marianne Soares Ramesar: “A Passage to India with Repatriating Immigrants." Paper presented to the 22nd Annual Conference of the Association of Caribbean Historians, The University of the West Indies, i St. Augustine, April 1-6, 1990, 35p + [9p].</description>
