View of the former court house and the façade of the King's House in Spanish Town, Saint Catherine, Jamaica. On the left is the former court house, which was constructed in 1819 by James Delancy, on the site of a Spanish chapel and cemetery. In 1986, the court house was destroyed by fire. On the right is old King's House, or governor's mansion, completed in 1762. Thomas Craskell, the Island Engineer, was responsible for preparing the King's House building plans. The mansion was destroyed during a fire in 1925 and now houses the Jamaican People's Museum of Crafts and Technology. In the center of the image are buildings on King's Street. In the image are children playing on the side walk and people resting in the shade of the King's House facade. Slide labeled Spanish Town.

The Blue Lagoon, also known as Blue Hole, was renamed after the 1980 film "The Blue Lagoon" with Brooke Shields, which was partially shot in the area. This natural spring fed lagoon in Port Antonio, Portland, Jamaica opens unto the sea through a narrow funnel. This is also the site of a famous Jacques Cousteau dive. Cousteau verified that the lagoon was not “bottomless” and in reality measured over 178 feet (54 meters) deep. The image shows a view of boats in the lagoon from breadfruit trees. Vehicles and children on Bamboo Avenue in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica. Bamboo Avenue, also known as “Bamboo Walk,” is a highway approximately 2.5 miles long planted with bamboos forming an arched canopy over the road. It is also known as Holland Bamboo because it was planted by the owners of Holland sugar estate and dates back to the mid 1700s. The purpose of the grove was to provide shade for plantation slaves and owners of the estate while on their way to the town of Lacovia. Slide labeled Jam. bamboo.

By 1755, the Good Hope Estate was formed through a land grant, given to Colonel Thomas Williams, who built the first great house on the site, which was a sugar estate. In 1767, the property and surrounding estates was purchased by John Tharp, then the largest land and slave owner in Jamaica. The plantation is close to the Martha Brae River and the Cockpit Mountains. The estate became a hotel in 1912 after it was purchased by an American banker. In the foreground of the picture, a citrus grove behind a wire fence. Slide labeled Hope Plantation.
