Résumé : The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
It is the sister castle to the El Morro Castle in Havana harbor. The inside of the castle has been entirely restored and is exactly as it was in Spanish times.
Castillo de San Pedro del Morro was designed in 1637 by Giovanni Battista Antonelli (also known as Juan Battista Antonelli), a member of a Milanese family of military engineers, on behalf of the governor of the city, Pedro de la Roca de Borja, as a defense against raiding pirates.
