Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location. On the right can be seen Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, known as “the Kirk” which is Scottish word for church. In 1810 the foundation stone was laid with the help of Scottish Loyalist Michael Malcolm and fellow members of the Saint Andrew's Society of the Bahamas to reflect the traditions of the Church of Scotland. The building was added to over the years. The nave, portico, and bell tower were added in 1864. It is the second oldest church building on New Providence. In 2010, the Kirk became affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Slide labeled Bryant Nassau Mar .'46. The church is painted white and has two sections. The main portion of the church building is attached to a smaller addition, both have rectangular shaped windows. Jones, walk towards a church near the coast of Staniard Creek, Andros, Bahamas. The church is painted white. The main portion of the church building has rounded arched windows and is attached to a smaller addition with triangular arched windows. At the roof apex of each of the building’s sections are wooden crosses. In 1948, the two Caucasian men pictured traveled on a fishing trip with William Junior Bryant in the Bahamas. Jones, wearing a white cap, attended Dartmouth with William Junior Bryant. The Jones Media Center in Dartmouth’s Berry Library is named for him. Various images from this fishing trip were featured in William Junior Bryant’s book “Flames of Life: A Pictorial Philosophy,” first published in 1961. Slide labeled Staniard Creek Andros. The Frederick Street steps (known locally as the Saint Andrew's, Hill Crest, or Blackbeard's Steps) were carved from stone in 1793. The steps were the original home for the cenotaph before its relocation to the Garden of Remembrance. In the background is the Trinity Methodist Church’s roof and Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church’s bell tower.
