Cat Cay refers to two islands in the Bahamas, North Cat Cay and South Cat Cay which is uninhabited. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club. This image shows yachts and sail boats docked at the North Cat Cay marina. One of the yachts is flying a United States of America flag while another is called “Elsa B.” Two men, one dressed in a khaki uniform, stand on the dock. Three men can be seen in the boat closest to the camera. Slide labeled Cat Cay, Mar '46.

Walter W. S. Cook (wearing shorts) walks with another companion towards the marina on North Cat Cay, Bimini, Bahamas. Cook, who was the founding director of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, served as an art professor from 1932 to 1953, and was historian of Medieval Spanish art. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club.
