Cat Cay refers to two islands in the Bahamas, North Cat Cay and South Cat Cay which is uninhabited. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club. Cook (wearing shorts) walks with another companion towards the marina on North Cat Cay, Bimini, Bahamas. Cook, who was the founding director of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, served as an art professor from 1932 to 1953, and was historian of Medieval Spanish art. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club. Cat Cay refers to two islands in the Bahamas, North Cat Cay and South Cat Cay which is uninhabited. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club. After converting the island to a private club, Wasey built a nine-hole golf course now known as Windsor Downs. The course occupies the center of the island and is named for the Duke of Windsor, who was the Governor of the Bahamas during World War II.
