Résumé : The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
Tourists sit in beach chairs, some under beach umbrellas, on Paradise Island, Bahamas. A man wearing a white long sleeved shirt and black pants approaches two men wearing black swim pants. These two men were companions of William Junior Bryant during a fishing trip in Andros, Bahamas in 1948. Images from the trip were featured in Bryant’s book “Flames of Life: A Pictorial Philosophy,” first published in 1961. One of the men is Berkeley F. Jones, under the blue and white umbrella, attended Dartmouth with William Junior Bryant. Slide labeled Paradise Beach.
