Résumé : The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
Cat Cay refers to two islands in the Bahamas, North Cat Cay and South Cat Cay which is uninhabited. North Cat Cay was purchased in 1931 by Louis Wasey as a private island and is presently (2013) owned by members of the Cat Cay Yacht Club. This image shows yachts and sail boats docked at the North Cat Cay marina. One of the yachts is flying a United States of America flag while another is called “Elsa B.” Two men, one dressed in a khaki uniform, stand on the dock. Three men can be seen in the boat closest to the camera. Slide labeled Cat Cay, Mar '46.
