Description : Le festival, fidèle à ses promesses d'échange et d'ouverture sur le monde, accueille pour sa 11ème édition Anne Kovalesky, Jean l'Océan et Caroline Rivas. Originaire de la région lyonnaise, A. Kovalesky déploie volontiers son sens du récit pour raconter l'itinéraire qui l'a porté : "Dans une « vie d'avant » j'étais infirmière ; au service de la vie, au service des gens. Aujourd'hui, Conteuse, je suis toujours au service de la vie, au service des gens. Le conte est un art de la relation. J'ai autant de bonheur à raconter dans un théâtre, une bibliothèque, au pied d'un arbre, dans une classe, une église, au pied d'un lit d'hôpital... Le conte apporte un supplément d'inattendu, de curiosité. Il permet de découvrir que ce que l'on sait de source sûre est déjà dans les contes." Pour sa part, J. L'Océan, né et élevé en Martinique, fut dans une vie lointaine artisan-taxi. Les routes de l'imaginaire, déjà, puisqu'il a ainsi " recueilli dans son habitacle itinérant un océan de confidences, prêté ses oreilles aux anonymes et saisi nombre de portraits." Sur le terrain artistique, il s'est d'abord formé au théâtre, où il a notamment adapté "Chemin d'école", de Patrick Chamoiseau. Un voisinage poétique et littéraire de choix pour ce conteur qui "puise son inspiration dans le métissage des races et transmet des histoires porteuses de valeurs universelles." Enfin c'est à Caroline Rivas, artiste franco-colombienne, qui "chante, joue du piano et de l'accordéon et se promène des chansons françaises, métissées, aux reprises latinos et au répertoire musette" que reviendra d'accompagner la soirée en musique

A view of the wake of a boat and other boats off the coast of Bimini, Bahamas. Bimini, the closest Bahamian island to the United States, is made up of two main islands, North Bimini and South Bimini, and several cays. Flowing north of Bimini is the Gulf Stream, a northward-flowing ocean current in the western North Atlantic Ocean. Bimini has been nicknamed “Sport Fishing Capital of the World.” The Bimini coat of arms features a marlin with a fishing line in its mouth. Slide labeled Bryant Gulf Stream at Bimini Mar. '46.

Boats and ocean liners anchored in Saint George’s harbor, Grenada. A yacht with what appears to be the name Sans Souci is flying a United States of America and the Grenadan flag (1967-1974). In 1967 when Grenada became a British Associated State, it adopted a blue-yellow-green flag with a nutmeg in the center. The nutmeg represented Grenada’s position as the “Spice Isle” and is also featured on the Coat of Arms. This flag was used until 1974 when Grenada gained independence. Merchant Vessel (MV) Geestcape, partially pictured, entered service in 1966. In 1935, the Van Geest brothers in Spalding, United Kingdom started a horticultural business. The brothers later expanded their business to include a cargo service to carry horticultural produce, primarily bananas, from the Windward and Leeward Islands to Europe. MV Geestcape is also flying the flag of the British Merchant Navy, a red flag with the Union Jack in the upper left corner. Motor Ship (MS) Renaissance, behind MV Geestcape, was built in 1966. Until 1977, Renaissance operated primarily on the Marseille-Haifa route under Compagnie Navigation de Paquet (Croiseres Paquet), Marseille, France. The cruise liner had many subsequent owners throughout her history, until her disposal in 2010. She is pictured here flying the French flag. In the distance overlooking the harbor is Fort George, Grenada’s oldest fort which was built by the French in 1705. Fort George continues (2013) to function as the headquarters for the Royal Grenada Police Force, which it has housed since 1854 when the Colonial Government took over control of the fort. On the left side of the image are yachts and various boats anchored in the lagoon off the coast of Saint George’s, Saint George, Grenada. As of 2013, the area above the hill belonged to Port Louis Marina. The buildings in the center of this image were built as barracks to house members of the Southern Defense Force, which was formed in 1944 during World War II. After the war, the barracks became the home of Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS). GBSS is Grenada’s oldest school, which officially began in 1885 at the Church Street location. Steamship (S.S.) Regina is shown anchored near the Grenada Port Authority pier in Saint George’s harbor. S.S. Regina, originally built in 1939, was acquired in 1964 by Chandris Cruises and renamed Regina. Her funnel features the Greek Chi symbol which was placed on Chandris ships to honor the founder’s Greek heritage. In the distance, atop the hill on the right, can be seen the dark stone walls of Fort George, Grenada’s oldest fort which was built by the French in 1705. Fort George continues (2013) to function as the headquarters for the Royal Grenada Police Force, which it has housed since 1854 when the Colonial Government took over control of the fort. We show here that the Amalaoulaou complex, in the Pan-African belt of West Africa (Gourma, Mali), corresponds to the lower and middle sections of a Neoproterozoic intra-oceanic arc. This complex records a 90-130-Ma-long evolution of magmatic inputs and differentiation above a subducting oceanic slab. Early c. 793 Ma-old metagabbros crystallised at lower crustal or uppermost mantle depths (25-30 km) and have geochemical characteristic of high-alumina basalts extracted from a depleted mantle source slightly enriched by slab-derived sedimentary components ((La/Sm)(N) < 1; epsilon(Nd): +5.4-6.2; Sr-87/Sr-86: 0.7027-0.7029). In response to crustal thickening, these mafic rocks were recrystallised into garnet-granulites (850-1,000A degrees C; 10-12 kbar) and subject to local dehydration-melting reactions, forming trondhjemititic leucosomes with garnet-clinopyroxene-rutile residues. Slightly after the granulitic event, the arc root was subject to strong HT shearing during partial exhumation (detachment faults/rifting or thrusting), coeval with the emplacement of spinel- and garnet-pyroxenite dykes crystallised from a high-Mg andesitic parental magma. Quartz and hornblende-gabbros (700-660 Ma) with composition typical of hydrous volcanic rocks from mature arcs ((La/Sm)(N): 0.9-1.8; epsilon(Nd): +4.6 to +5.2; Sr-87/Sr-86: 0.7028-0.7031) were subsequently emplaced at mid-arc crust levels (similar to 15 km). Trace element and isotopic data indicate that magmas tapped a depleted mantle source significantly more enriched in oceanic sedimentary components (0.2%). Exhumation occurred either in two stages (700-660 and 623 Ma) or in one stage (623 Ma) with a final exhumation of the arc root along cold P-T path (550A degrees C, 6-9 kbar; epidote-amphibolite and greenschist facies conditions) during the main Pan-African collision event (620-580 Ma). The composition of magmas forming the Cryogenian Amalaoulaou arc and the processes leading to intra-arc differentiation are strikingly comparable to those observed in the deep section of exposed Mezosoic oceanic arcs, namely the Kohistan and Talkeetna complex. This evolution of the Amalaoulaou oceanic arc and its accretion towards the West African craton belong to the life and closure of the Pharusian Ocean that eventually led to the formation of the Greater Gondwana supercontinent, a similar story having occurred on the other side of the Sahara with the Mozambique Ocean.
