Université des Antilles et de la Guyane Description : La migration, les déplacements incessants des personnages constituent une thématique forte dans mon travail d'écrivain et participent d'une esthétique que je nomme vagabondage. Ces déplacements sont parfois liés à des nécessités économiques, mais plus souvent à une pulsion de l'ailleurs, qui finit, chez certains, par prendre la forme d'une véritable obsession. Les données de cette obsession du déplacement ? et de son pendant, l'ailleurs ? sont présentes dès mon premier recueil de poèmes. Toutefois, loin de la subir, certains personnages finissent par s'en servir pour constituer une géographie personnelle. Faite de nostalgie et de rêves. Un lieu toujours repoussé plus loin, qui participe d'un choix de l'individu, de sa liberté, liée de manière intrinsèque à la prise de conscience de son humanité et aussi du caractère éphémère de celle-ci. En ce sens, l'idée de vagabondage se différencie d'autres concepts proches comme l'errance, le nomadisme ou encore l'exil. Elle est surtout liée à ce que je nomme le pays-temps, une idée développée dans l'épilogue de mon roman Le crayon du bon Dieu n'a pas de gomme. Dans l'esprit du narrateur, le Temps est fait d'étapes, de «lieux» successifs qu'on n'habite jamais qu'une fois. C'est alors lui qui définit l'individu et non plus l'espace, auquel il se substitue. Cette obsession du Temps, présente aussi bien dans ma prose que dans ma poésie, relève d'une thématique personnelle. Elle y rejoint l'idée de vagabondage, ce désir inconscient de vouloir arrêter sinon le Temps, du moins de ne pas le voir passer. Pour Laurent Troudart, "dans la littérature d'Alfred Alexandre les corps sont tiraillés, disloqués ou au contraire enfermés dans des lieux rêvés ou trop réels. L'espace et le temps se télescopent en permanence rejoignant les thèmes, très prégnants dans nos îles, de l'exil, du paradis perdu ou rêvé, de l'ici honni et de l'ailleurs fantasmé". Dans cette réalisation où sont intégrées musiques et voix off, des séquences des deux pièces sont entremêlées, juxtaposées, jusqu'à produire une oeuvre nouvelle. Université des Antilles Description : Chafik AYOUB, Docteur en Langue, Lettres et Traductologie axe son intervention sur la vie du Professeur Marocian Mahdi Elmandjra. Celui-ci se confronte pour la première fois à la réalité de l'humiliation coloniale, en tant que lycéen. Dans un acte d'opposition au comportement arrogant d'un commissaire français dans un Maroc colonisé, il se voit emprisonné et libéré quelques jours plus tard. Il a dû partir en exil à deux reprises à cause de ses positions idéologiques. Cette communication démontre qu'en marge du système coopératif opéré par l'Etat sécuritaire sur un large segment de l'Intelligentsia (en marge des alliances avec les pouvoirs politique, économique et ses logiques de marché, de l'expertise en contrepartie d'un gagne-pain), le refus de l'humiliation s'enregistre chemin faisant dans le parcours de Mahdi Elmandjra, et que, par ce refus, il s'est auto-marginalisé à l'oeuvre de perpétuer cette idée de dignité. (Biographical) Aida García Alonso was Cuban. She attended Mexico's National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) where she got a degree in cultural anthropology. After the Cuban Revolution, García Alonso returned to Cuba. There she started to do ethnographic research in Las Yaguas, a series of slums in Havana. Her work coincided with the Cuban government's project of relocating Las Yaguas' dwellers to new houses built by the new regime. The result of her fieldwork was the book Manuela la Mexicana published by Casa de las Americas in 1968. In the 1970s, García Alonso was preparing a second edition. For this newer edition she prepared photographs and statistics on the people who used to live in Las Yaguas and was relocated. Fidel Castro's government censored the work, and García Alonso went into exile to Mexico in 1980, where she died in 2009. This digital collection includes the photographs, captions, and statistics that were to be included in the second edition of Manuela la Mexicana.
