Résumé : The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
This image shows workers near a banana loading area, while donkey pulled carts wait. Once the bananas are unloaded from the carts they will be placed on awaiting boats in the bay of Oracabessa, Saint Mary, Jamaica. One of Oracabessa’s famous residents was Ian Fleming. Fleming built his house GoldenEye, nearby, where he wrote many of his James Bond books. Slide labeled Aracabessa Banana Sheds.
