The Garden of Remembrance, pictured in the foreground, houses a stone cenotaph, a monument which serves as a memorial to Bahamians who lost their lives in World Wars I and II. In the background is the building currently known as the Ansbacher House, which is the home of Ansbacher (Bahamas) Limited. Previously the building housed the Bahamas International Trust Company Limited, known as “BITCO”, which was established in 1957. In 1989, BITCO was sold to the Ansbacher Group of Companies and which later changed its name to Ansbacher (Bahamas) Limited in 1994. Slide labeled Public Sq Nassau, April 12 '65.

In the foreground are archaeologist Ripley Pierce Bullen and his wife, bioanthropologist Adelaide Kendall Bullen. Ripley Bullen was the curator emeritus at the Florida State Museum, currently the Florida Museum of Natural History, at the University of Florida. Adelaide Bullen was the Research Associate in Anthropology at the Florida State Museum. In the background of the restaurant is a painting of a Bahamian market scene which includes fruit, fish, straw vendors, shoppers, a police officer, and surrey carriage. On the right can be seen Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, known as “the Kirk” which is Scottish word for church. In 1810 the foundation stone was laid with the help of Scottish Loyalist Michael Malcolm and fellow members of the Saint Andrew's Society of the Bahamas to reflect the traditions of the Church of Scotland. The building was added to over the years. The nave, portico, and bell tower were added in 1864. It is the second oldest church building on New Providence. In 2010, the Kirk became affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Slide labeled Bryant Nassau Mar .'46.

The British Colonial Hotel, now (2013) the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, is located on the site of Fort Nassau which was demolished in 1837. By 1900, Henry Flagler had built the original Colonial Hotel, the only beachfront hotel in Nassau, which was destroyed by fire. A Mediterranean-style replica opened in 1922. The hotel was built adjacent to Nassau Harbor and was the location for two James Bond movies. In this image is a view of the British Colonial Hotel and boats anchored in Nassau Harbor.
