Résumé : Cette étude ouvre une réflexion sur les enjeux d’intégration sociale autour de la lecture dans le territoire de la Guyane française. Les handicaps socioéconomiques du développement de la lecture sont particulièrement importants dans ce département français. La Guyane n’appartient pas à une société de lecture ; c’est une société d’oralité déchirée entre la modernité par la lecture et l’écriture et la tradition par l’oralité. L’étude propose daller au-delà du simple diagnostic pour envisager des stratégies de développer destinées à populariser la lecture dans ce département, par exemple avec le développer de la lecture publique à partir de biblio/pirogue pour répondre à l’isolement des populations. Dans cette société marquée par l’importante proportion d’illettrisme et d’analphabétisme, et la faible pratique de la lecture, l’égalité d’accès à la lecture est défi pour l’avenir de ce territoire.
This study opens a discussion on issues of social integration around reading in the territory of French Guiana. The socio-economic handicaps the development of reading are particularly important in this department french. The Guyana who does not belong to a reading society, is an oral society torn between modernity by reading and writing and oral tradition. The studies propose to go beyond the simple diagnosis to consider development strategies designed to popularize reading in this department, for example with the development of the public reading from library on a boat to meet the isolation of populations. In this society marked by the large proportion of illiteracy and illiteracy, and low practice of reading, equal access to reading is challenge for the future of this territory.

Résumé : The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
This photograph shows a large building which is part of Havana's public square, which was originally called la Plaza Cívica (Civic Square), but after the Cuban Revolution was renamed "Plaza de la Revolución" or "Revolution Square." The large tower is a memorial to Jose Marti, which was erected during the Presidency of Fulgencio Batista. The square and the memorial were completed in 1959, the year that Fidel Castro came to power. This picture includes many vehicles of the 1950. In front of the building are two billboards. The billboard on the right is a political ad for, then president Batista. It reads "Paz, Trabajo, progreso" - meaning "Peace, Work and Progress."
The 109 m (358 ft) tower, designed by a team of architects led by Enrique Luis Varela, is in the form of a five-pointed star, encased in grey Cuban marble from the Isla de la Juventud.

Résumé : Dégager le sens des actions mises en place en Guadeloupe depuis les années 1940 dans le secteur de la lecture publique par les collectivités locales, constitue l'objet de la recherche. Deux acteurs sont privilégiés, le Département et les communes. La lecture est appréhendée dans sa fonction identitaire, L'identité est posée comme système de significations, et il s'agit de décoder les représentations sociales de la lecture pour la situer dans la construction identitaire, Deux hypothèses conduisent la réflexion. La lecture n'est pas un enjeu identitaire fort et ne fait pas débat, cela parce que l'activité conserve une fonction fortement instrumentalisée déterminée par le contexte guadeloupéen. Les réponses sont cherchées dans l'histoire et l'analyse des actions publiques, elles aussi porteuses de significations. L'analyse de discours entreprise se réalise autour de quatre thématiques: la lecture, le livre, le lecteur, la bibliothèque. Ce travail retrace d'abord la genèse du secteur du livre et de la lecture en Guadeloupe dans les lieux et les pratiques. Puis il propose un panorama historique des actions. Enfin, une analyse des actions et des représentations est développée. L'irrégularité et la disparité de l'action publique locale, le discours très consensuel qui ressortent, plaident pour l'inexistence de politiques de lecture et d'enjeux véritables. Pourtant, lecture, livre et bibliothèque se montrent auréolés de prestige, vecteurs de savoir et de culture lettrée, relais de l'école. Ce paradoxe apparent illustre la problématique encore conflictuelle entre culture écrite et tradition orale en Guadeloupe, et la défiance traditionnelle envers l'écrit.
Understand the meaning underlying the initiatives led in the field of reading by public local authorities in Guadeloupe since 1940, is the object ofthis research. Two local authorities are particularly studied, the "Departement" and the towns and villages. Reading is taken here in an identity function. Identity is defmed her7as a system of significations, and the point is to understand which social representations reading conveys, and thus determine its place in the identity building process. The research is carried on around two hypotheses : reading is not an issue of much importance, nor a matter of political debate ; and this because it is thought of and used as a mere tool, due to the Guadeloupe context. Answers are searched by tracing the history and analyzing the public actions, which, too, convey meanings. A speech analysis is done around four subjects : reading, books, readers, Iibraries, This work describes the making of the field in Guadeloupe, through the history of reading places and practices, Then it presents the history of the actions themselves. Last, an analysis ofthe initiatives and the social representations underlying are developed. The public local action appears to be irregular and unequal, and the positions very consensual, both aspects speaking for an absence of true policies and real questioning about reading. Though, reading, books, libraries, are wrapped up in an aura of prestige, thought ofas vectors ofknowledge and culture, complementary to school. This apparent paradox is an example ofthe still remaining conflict between written and oral traditions in Guadeloupe, an expression of a longrooted distrust towards writing

The scleractinian coral Pocillopora damicornis type β is known to present a mixed reproduction mode: through sexual reproduction, new genotypes are created, while asexual reproduction insures their propagation. In order to investigate the relative proportion of each reproduction mode in P. damicornis type β populations from Reunion Island, Indian Ocean, clonal propagation along the west coast was assessed through four sampling sites with increasing geographical distance between sites. Coral colonies were sampled either exhaustively, randomly or haphazardly within each site, and genotypic diversity was assessed using 13 microsatellite loci over a total of 510 P. damicornis type β determined a posteriori from their mtDNA haplotype (a 840 bp sequenced fragment of the Open Reading Frame). Overall, 47% of all the sampled colonies presented the same multi-locus genotype (MLG), a superclone, suggesting that asexual propagation is extremely important in Reunion Island. Within each site, numerous MLGs were shared by several colonies, suggesting local clonal propagation through fragmentation. Moreover, some of these MLGs were found to be shared among several sites located 40 km apart. While asexual reproduction by fragmentation seems unlikely over long distances, our results suggest a production of parthenogenetic larvae. Despite shared MLGs, two differentiated clusters were enclosed among populations of the west coast of Reunion Island, revealing the necessity to set up appropriate managing strategies at a local scale.
