L'intégration animale et végétale comme facteur favorisant les performances des systèmes polyculture élevage ; Mixed farming systems assessment according to crop livestock integration : case studies in Guadeloupe (FWI) Auteur(s) : Franchone, Audrey Année de publication : Loading the player... Service commun de la documentation Extrait de : 52e congrès annuel de la Société caribéenne des plantes alimentaires / 52nd annual meeting of the Caribbean food crops society (CFCS), du 10 au 16 juillet 2016. INRA, CFCS Description : In the new context of the agro-ecological transition, present agricultural systems will have to produce more and better in a more constraint world. Mixed crop livestock systems (MCLS) represent sound alternative ways to progressively achieve these goals through crop-livestock integration (CLI). CLI exploits the synergies between cropping and livestock systems through organic fertilization with manure or plant association, use of crop residues to feed livestock, .... It offers many opportunities to improve productivity, as well as to increase resource use efficiency and improve the resilience of the whole farming system. In the scientific literature, authors advocate the interest of MLCS and CLI, based on theoretical considerations, modelling and empirical evidence from local case studies. But these studies do not clearly identify the respective roles of diversity of activities and CLI management practices in improving performances at the level of the whole farming system. Our aim was thus to assess CLI at farm scale in a range of MCLS and to explain farm performances by analyzing the combination of activities and the level of integration. We conducted our analyses in Guadeloupe, (French West Indies), where MCLS and CLI are complex but important challenges for local agricultural. In order to analyze CLI in a holistic and systemic way, we applied a method traditionally used in ecology, ecological network analysis, to study the structure, functioning and performance of agrosystems. This method was implemented on a range of Guadeloupian MCLS where CLI practices where identified. Nitrogen was retained to conduct the analysis due to its central role for both animal and vegetal productions. The ENA method allows an estimation of productivity, resilience, efficiency, productivity and self- sufficiency of the flows network. Our results show that 1/ efficiency and resilience appear correlated to the complexity and intensity of the network of flows; 2/ efficiency and resiliency are positively correlated when we consider them in terms of N flows; 3/ in the Guadeloupian context, CLI concerns mainly specific practices, as feeding pigs with a wide range of crop residues and organic fertilization of small market gardens and plots used to grow tubers. But at whole system level, CLI remains rare and mainly depends on conventional management practices as mineral fertilization and animal complementation of some farming activities as sugar cane, cattle breeding and banana. Moreover, the combination of productions implemented determines the potential of CLI and related performances linked to relative N efficiency of each production. Consequently, performance and especially efficiency and self-sufficiency depend more on the nature of the activity than on CLI management practices. There is still a gap between theoretical studies and CLI in practice, even though CLI is more complicated than simple flows and provides other services and functions. Université des Antilles Description : The majority of maritime trade within the Caribbean has been based on smuggling since the beginning of European influenced trade in this area. With the establishment of Non-Iberian colonies such as English, French, Dutch, German and Danish during the 17th century also Jewish merchants seeped into the illegal markets with sugarcane, tobacco, slaves, salt, vanilla etc. This lecture would like to highlight the illicit networks of Jewish and New Christian traders based on their clandestine Caribbean routes by means of Braudelian methods during 1670 and 1730. Seemingly insignificant ports and coastal communities as well as bays have become global cargo hubs due to these extensive networks. The majority of these places have been located in the Caribbean Frontier, which has been often dominated by Indians, escaped slaves, refugees, pirates and other outlaws. The role of Jews as middlemen between legal and illegal trade will be another focus of this lecture. INRA, CFCS Description : Plant genetic resources are instrumental in the adaptation of agriculture to social and environmental change. They are the backbone of research and breeding programs aimed at the development and transfer of new crop varieties best suited to consumers? needs and tastes and to new farming systems. To this aim, plant germplasm collections have been constituted worldwide. Securing such collections requires substantial human and financial investments that can prove difficult to maintain on the long run for small countries and territories such as most Caribbean countries. In Guadeloupe and Martinique, INRA and CIRAD have constituted large plant germplasm collections of tropical crops over several decades. They joined forces in 2010 to create the Tropical Plant Biological Resource Center of the French West Indies (CRB-PT), which is affiliated to both institutions. In this paper, we describe CRB-PT?s collections, services provided to end users and research programs as well as scientific and technical networking strategy. Université des Antilles Description : This research will unveil the tensions between international, regional, and local interests which drove colonial officials and merchants on St. Thomas, St. Eustatius, Dutch St. Maarten, St. Bartholomew, and Saba to engage in illegal trade and logistical relations with privateers, pirates, and slave trading vessels between 1816-1840. Along with an analysis of eastern Caribbean trade networks through surviving shipping records, extensive government correspondence, court records, and accounts in historic newspapers from the region, this will subsequently permit insights into how the shifting bounds and tolerances of legal and illicit trade by colonial officials on these islands fostered a smuggling and laundering ring for ships, goods, and people engaged in privateering, piracy during the Latin American Wars of Independence and the later Cisplatine War, and the post-abolition slave trade. By understanding the processes involved in smuggling and laundering illegal prizes by privateers and pirates, direct evidence these activities can become visible in the archaeological record through a predictive model based upon local practices of intentionally sinking illegally captured ships. Report of the first meeting of the Caribbean Region of the International Resource Network Éditeur(s) : Caribbean IRN Caribbean IRN Résumé : (Funding) Support for the development of the technical infrastructure and partner training provided by the United States Department of Education TICFIA program. The first meeting of the Caribbean Region of the International Resource Network was an undeniable success. The more than thirty people present came from or have relationships with over a dozen Caribbean countries and territories using all four major languages of the region. They are activists, scholars, politicians, and artists – and many occupy more than one of these roles at once. In addition to individual introductions, an important element of the meeting was brief reports of the major issues faced by sexual minorities in different Caribbean countries and territories. This enabled participants to have a better idea of the historical and contemporary situations in places with which they were less familiar. Diffusion in Dynamic Social Networks: Application in Epidemiology Auteur(s) : Stattner, Erick Collard, Martine Vidot, Nicolas Auteurs secondaires : Laboratoire de Mathématiques Informatique et Applications (LAMIA) ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) Springer Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD Résumé : International audience Structure and evolution of networks have been areas of growing interest in recent years, especially with the emergence of Social Network Analysis (SNA) and its application in numerous fields. Researches on diffusion are focusing on network modeling for studying spreading phenomena. While the impact of network properties on spreading is now widely studied, involvement of network dynamicity is very little known. In this paper, we address the epidemiology context and study the consequences of network evolutions on spread of diseases. Experiments are conducted by comparing incidence curves obtained by evolution strategies applied on two generated and two real networks. Results are then analyzed by investigating network properties and discussed in order to explain how network evolution influences the spread. We present the MIDEN framework, an approach to measure impact of basic changes in network structure, and DynSpread, a 2D simulation tool designed to replay infections scenarios on evolving networks. In the study area, 251 snails belonging to 12 populations were collected along different ditches of a same river network. Each snail was genotyped at six variable microsatellite loci. Our results show that all sample sites are characterized by a low level of polymorphism and a very high and significant heterozygote deficiency. Our data reveal a significant genetic differentiation, even at a small scale, and failed to delimit clear patterns of isolation by euclidian distance. Our study shows that genetic differentiation significantly increases with hydrographic distance along the streams (p < 0.002), in consistence with the hypothesis that dispersion along the stream is dependent on the direction of water flow. This study shows that relationships can exist between the organization of the hydrological network and population biology of a disease vector, which has strong potential applications to drainage network management issues. Contributions to the study of social networks : propagation, mining, data collection ; Contributions à l'étude des réseaux sociaux : propagation, fouille, collecte de données Auteur(s) : Stattner, Erick Auteurs secondaires : Ingénierie des données et connaissances ; Laboratoire de Mathématiques Informatique et Applications (LAMIA) ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) - Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) Université des Antilles-Guyane Martine Collard(martine.collard@univ-ag.fr) Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD Résumé : The concept of network provides a model for representing a wide variety of objects and systems, both natural and social, in which a set of homogeneous or heterogeneous entities interact. It is now widely used to describe various kinds of relational structures. However, if everyone has an idea of the concept of network, we often ignore the implications that these structures have in real world phenomena. This is for example the case of processes such as the spread of a rumor, the disease transmission, or even the emergence of subjects of common interest for a group of individuals, in which the relations maintained between individuals, and their nature, often prove to be the main factors determining the evolution of the phenomenon. This is the reason why the study of networks has become one of the emerging areas in the 21st century called the "Science of networks." In this thesis, we address three issues of the domain of the science of networks: the problem of diffusion in social networks, where we have addressed more particularly the impact of the network dynamics on the diffusion process, the problem of the analysis of social networks, in which we have proposed a solution to take full advantage of all information available on the network by combining information on both structure and node attributes and the central problem of the social data collection, for which we have focused on the particular case of the data collection in a wild environment.
Towards a hybrid algorithm for extracting maximal frequent conceptual links in social networks Auteur(s) : Stattner, Erick Collard, Martine Auteurs secondaires : Laboratoire de Mathématiques Informatique et Applications (LAMIA) ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD Résumé : International audience One of the most common tasks in the area of social network mining is the extraction of frequent patterns from social networks. Although traditional approaches have been mainly focused on subgraphs occurring frequently in a network or a set of networks, new approaches have attempted to exploit network structure and node properties in order to elicit new kinds of patterns. One of these news approaches is the extraction of conceptual links, a solution that combines both structure and node properties for providing knowledge on the groups of nodes the most connected in a social network. However, if the extraction of conceptual links offers a great potential in terms of knowledge discovery as well as network visualization, the search for these kinds of patterns remains a computationally intensive problem. Thus, the efficiency of the extraction processes highly depends on the efficiency of the underlying algorithm. In this paper, we focus on the extraction of maximal frequent conceptual links (MFCL) and we propose a hybrid algorithm that applies a filter on the nodes for reducing the search space to the most frequent groups of nodes. Although our solution potentially causes loss of some patterns, we demonstrate its efficiency by comparison with the MFCLMin algorithm. We investigate the potential loss of patterns, the gain on the runtime, and the gain on the number of comparisons. Societal need for improved understanding of climate change, anthropogenic impacts, and geo-hazard warning drive development of ocean observatories in European Seas Auteur(s) : Ruhl, Henry A. Andre, Michel Beranzoli, Laura Cagatay, M. Namik Colaco, Ana Cannat, Mathilde Danobeitia, Juanjo J. Favali, Paolo Éditeur(s) : Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd Résumé : Society's needs for a network of in situ ocean observing systems cross many areas of earth and marine science. Here we review the science themes that benefit from data supplied from ocean observatories. Understanding from existing studies is fragmented to the extent that it lacks the coherent long-term monitoring needed to address questions at the scales essential to understand climate change and improve geo-hazard early warning. Data sets from the deep sea are particularly rare with long-term data available from only a few locations worldwide. These science areas have impacts on societal health and well-being and our awareness of ocean function in a shifting climate. Substantial efforts are underway to realise a network of open-ocean observatories around European Seas that will operate over multiple decades. Some systems are already collecting high-resolution data from surface, water column, seafloor, and sub-seafloor sensors linked to shore by satellite or cable connection in real or near-real time, along with samples and other data collected in a delayed mode. We expect that such observatories will contribute to answering major ocean science questions including: How can monitoring of factors such as seismic activity, pore fluid chemistry and pressure, and gas hydrate stability improve seismic, slope failure, and tsunami warning? What aspects of physical oceanography, biogeochemical cycling, and ecosystems will be most sensitive to climatic and anthropogenic change? What are natural versus anthropogenic changes? Most fundamentally, how are marine processes that occur at differing scales related? The development of ocean observatories provides a substantial opportunity for ocean science to evolve in Europe. Here we also describe some basic attributes of network design. Observatory networks provide the means to coordinate and integrate the collection of standardised data capable of bridging measurement scales across a dispersed area in European Seas adding needed certainty to estimates of future oceanic conditions. Observatory data can be analysed along with other data such as those from satellites, drifting floats, autonomous underwater vehicles, model analysis, and the known distribution and abundances of marine fauna in order to address some of the questions posed above. Standardised methods for information management are also becoming established to ensure better accessibility and traceability of these data sets and ultimately to increase their use for societal benefit. The connection of ocean observatory effort into larger frameworks including the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) and the Global Monitoring of Environment and Security (GMES) is integral to its success. It is in a greater integrated framework that the full potential of the component systems will be realised. Crown Copyright (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Traditional software development tools are not well adapted to this technology. In particular, adequate testing methodologies are required. Many issues have not been formally addressed as energy-conservation, congestion control, reliability data dissemination, security. In this paper, we present a pragmatic approach to detect some kind of anomalies based on defined scenarios on wireless sensor networks. A scenario is considered as a set of events which should happen on the network in an ordered way. We discuss a formal architecture able to perform these scenarios over the wireless sensor networks and to raise alarms if necessary. This methodology has been implemented on a prototype and has been experimented with various examples. This contribution is a first attempt for a formal testing methodology for wireless sensor networks. From Frequent Features to Frequent Social Links Auteur(s) : Stattner, Erick Collard, Martine Auteurs secondaires : Laboratoire de Mathématiques Informatique et Applications (LAMIA) ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD IGI Global Résumé : International audience Standard data mining techniques have been applied and adapted for eliciting knowledge from social networks, by achieving classical tasks such as classification, search for frequent patterns or link prediction. Most works have exploited only the network topological structure, and therefore cannot be used to answer questions involving nodes features. For instance, the frequent pattern discovery task generally refers to the search for sub-networks frequently found in a single network or in a set of networks. In the same area, this paper focuses on the concept of frequent link that stands as a regularity found in a network on links between node groups that share common characteristics. The extraction of such links from a social network is a particularly challenging and computationally intensive problem, since it is much dependent on the number of links and attributes. In this study, we propose a solution for reducing the search space of frequent links, by filtering the nodes features on a criterion of frequency. We make the assumption that frequent links occur between sets of features that are themselves frequent. This property is used to reduce the search space and speed up the extraction process. We empirically show that it is well founded. We discuss the efficiency of the solution in terms of computation time and number of frequent patterns found depending on several frequency thresholds. Link formation in a telecommunication network Auteur(s) : Stattner, Erick Auteurs secondaires : Laboratoire de Mathématiques Informatique et Applications (LAMIA) ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) IEEE Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD Résumé : International audience Traditional network generation models aim to replicate global structural properties observed on various real-world networks (power law degree distribution, short average distance, community structure, etc.) through synthetic link formation mechanisms such as triadic closure or preferential attachment. Nowadays the large amount of data available allows to study more precisely the link formation processes and to compare the models to real situations. In this work, we analyse the communication activities of the users of a mobile telephony operator for studying the link formation process. The communications emitted and received by users are strong indicators for understanding the underlying mechanisms of the link formation process and highlighting how user attributes correlate with the formation process in such a network. In a first study conducted at a global level we show that the traditional mechanisms commonly used in network generation models are not the main link formation mechanisms involved in this network. In a second study, we analyse more precisely the link formation process by searching for correlations between some user attributes and the formation of the new links. These results provide valuable guidelines to the design of more realistic generation models taking into account network structure and node attributes. Etablissement des nouveaux réseaux multi-observations géodésiques et gravimétriques et détermination du géoïde en Iran Auteur(s) : Hatam, Yaghoub Auteurs secondaires : Géosciences Montpellier ; Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) - Institut national des sciences de l'Univers (INSU - CNRS) - Université de Montpellier (UM) - Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) Université Montpellier 2 Roger Bayer Éditeur(s) : HAL CCSD Résumé : Iran covers a large area limited in longitude by the meridians 44°E and 64°E and in latitude by the parallels 25°N and 40°N. Mapping a new gravity field over Iran is the first important data for geodetic, geophysicaland geodynamical considerations. In this thesis, the gravity measurements are used to determine the gravimetric geoid over Iran. This geoid is coupled with the GPS height and altitude (levelling) to realize an operational vertical surface at the territory of Iran. The contribution of the principal geodetic and gravimetric works realized in recent years are the establishment of: 1) the national absolute gravity network of Iran (NAGNI09), 2) the national gravity calibration line of Iran (NGCLI10) and 3) the multi-observations geodetic and gravimetric network of Iran (MPGGNI10). The absolute gravity network consists in 24 stations where the gravity measurement has been realized with the help of gravimeters FG5, with a precision better than 5μ Gal. The repetition of the observations at two stations between 2000 and 2007 makes obvious the inter-annual variations of gravity in relation of the amount of underground water changes and (or) tectonic deformation. The absolute gravity network has served the base stations for the realization of the MPGGNI10 geodetic and gravimetric network with a mesh of 55 km, at which the gravity is measured with the help of relative gravimeters CG-5 and CG-3/M, the GPS height and the altitude with a precision of 0.010 mGal, 0.03 m, and 3mm km respectively. The remove-restore technique coupled with the Helmert's condensation method is chousen to compute a new gravimetric geoid model, IRGeoid10, with a absolute and relative precision of the order of 0.26 m and 2.8 ppm respectively.
