Although the photographer did not name the building in this photograph, making it difficult to identify, it is a typical catholic church, possibly dating back to the 17th or 18th century. It is obvious that the church is open for visitors due to the street venders selling t-shirts on the bottom right and the woman standing in front of the iron gate is possibly there to collect tickets or charge admission.

Business signs advertise Loyalist Shoppe, “Thompson Brothers (Wines & Spirits) Ltd,” Coca Cola, and Barclays Bank. Loyalist Shoppe was a souvenir gift shop. Thompson Brothers (Wines and Spirits) Limited was a subsidiary of Burns House. In 1836, a Royal Charter established The Colonial Bank in the Caribbean. This photograph shows the rope making process in greater detail. Once the strands are attached to the wooden, they are stretched out. As the man at the very end pulls and turns his end the girl holding the wooden panel in the middle makes sure that the rope is kept straight and does not get tangled. This process, which is common for rope making generally uses three or four strands that are twisted into rope with a hand operated rope machine such as the one pictured. The photograph also shows two men at the very end with the plank, a girl holding the wooden panel and a man taking a break under the shade of a nearby tree.
