En prenant comme exemple le gobie à crête Lophogobius cyprinoides (Pallas, 1770), les éléments (canaux et pores et canaux sensoriels muqueux, et papilles sensorielles) composant le système latéral (SL) ont été observés selon plusieurs méthodes de préparation. Des échantillons ont été préparés soit pour observation en microscopie électronique à balayage (MEB), soit pour observation en microscopie photonique après immersion dans du liquide de fixation "Bouin Hollande" ou dans du formol à 4% en eau de mer avant coloration au KMnO4 (technique traditionnelle). Les résultats obtenus avec le MEB et le Bouin Hollande sont meilleurs qu'avec la méthode traditionnelle et présentent une plus grande reproductibilité. Bien que moins rapide et plus onéreuse, la méthode d'évaluation au MEB offre une finesse d'observation qui n'est pas obtenue au Bouin Hollande en raison de la limite du grandissement en microscopie optique. Si l'ultrastructure des papilles sensorielles ne peut être observable qu'au MEB, le SL des poissons Gobiidae peut être facilement étudié de manière approfondie avec les deux méthodologies proposées dans ce travail. Elles sont à préconiser car plus fiables que la technique traditionnelle consistant en une immersion dans une solution de permanganate de potassium et d'acide sulfurique. Celle-ci détériore partiellement les papilles sensorielles du SL rendant son analyse plus délicate.

Résumé : Marine capture fisheries in Jamaica is primarily artisanal in nature ansd is conducted maiinly by fishermen operating from canoes. Approximately 95% of these fishermen operate on the coastal shelf and its associated banks. The commercial species harvested comprise bottom-dwelling, coral reef species and free swimming species of finfish. Other fishery resources of commercial value include marine shrimp, conch and lobsters. Catch statistics are not available for all species, but the Department of Fisheries reports a slight decline in fishery production with production decreasing from 16 milion lbs in 1990, despite the fact that fishing efforts have doubled. Over this period the number of registered fishermen has grown from 12 000 to 16 000, al of whom are engaged in full-time fishing. There arealso part-time fishermen who are not registered. The decline in fish catch is accompanied by a decrease in fish size and quality, suggesting that the fisheries are under pressure and have already exceeded optimum production in relation to vailable resources. As a result the economic returns to fishermen are declining. There are also other problems, such as high incidence of conflicts among fishermen at sea, the high cost of purchasing boats, outboard engine fuel, and equipment, with together with the dangers involved in fishing offshore (piracy, and praedial larceny) create serious social ans economic difficulties for fishermen. Notwithstanding, there is an apparent move on the part of the fishermen to leave the industryor to seek alternative forms of employment. In fact, the Department ofFisheries reports that it is still reciving applications for new licences to operate fishing boats. This is probably due to the fact that where the basis of a community is fishing, it becomes difficult to introduce alternative forms of employment, such as cottage industries, village crafts and other trades. In 1987 the Jamaica Department of Fisheries prepared a Management plan which proposed several conservation measures to promote the efficient use of fisheries resources and to control the development of the Fishery in such a way that the country would receive highest benefits. Adequate attention was given to limitations on fishing gear, institution of closed seasons and related legislation. Strategies to diversify the marine fishing were also proposed. The 1990 five year Devlopment Plan for marine fisheries also focuses on proper resource management in order to reverse trends associated with the overexploitation of marine resources. According to the plan, emphasis will be placed on inland fisheries and mariculture in order to reduce pressure on the fisheries. Inland fisheries in the form of freshwater fish fanning has expanded significantly over the past 10 years with production increasing from less than 0,5 million lbs. in 1980 to in excess of 6.0 million lbs. in 1989. However, some freshwater fish farmers are already experiencing serious competition for water usage and, to a lesser extent for land from crop-producing farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture is of the view that marine cage culture technologically has the potential for introduction in Jamaica . This technologyhas been successfully developed in Norway and the technology is currentlty being experimentally utilized in several countries in the area. The technology, if widely utilized in Jamaica, couls significantly reduce pressure on fisheries, making fishing more cost effective and improve the economic returns to fishermen. Already there exist some technical and institutional capabilities in Jamaica to support commercial development of marine cage culture. The Department of Fisheries has highly trained personnel in aquaculture and marine fisherie, some of whom are directly responsible for the success of freshwater fish fanning. In adition, the Marine Laboratory at the Univesity of the West Indies (UWI) is caarying research on hatchery facilities for marine cage farming. The Department of Fisheries will seek the collaboration ofg the marine unit at UWI which could provide fingerlings of selected marine species for cage 1
Les pêcheries de captage marin en Jamaïque sont principalement de nature artisanale et elles sont dirigées principalement par les pêcheurs qui travaillent depuis des canoës. Environ 95 % de ces pêcheurs travaillent sur la plaine côtière et ses bancs associés. Les espèces commerciales récoltées comprennent les espèces benthiques, les espèces de corail et les espèces de poisson marin de nage libre. D'autres ressources de pêcheries de valeur commerciale comprennent la crevette, la conque et le homard. Les statistiques des pêches ne sont pas disponibles pour toutes les espèces, mais le Département des Pêcheries fait état d'une légère réduction de production de pêcheries, la production se réduisant de 16 millions de livres en 1990, en dépit du fait que les efforts de la pêche ont doublé. Sur cette période le nombre de pêcheurs inscrits a augmenté de 12 000 à 16 000, dont tous sont occupés à plein temps à la pêche. Il y a aussi des pêcheurs à mi-temps qui ne sont pas inscrits. La réduction des pêches est accompagnée d'une réduction de la taille et la qualité des poissons, ce qui implique que les pêcheries sont sous pression et qu'elles ont déjà dépassé la production optimum par rapport aux ressources disponibles. En conséquence, les rendements pour les pêcheurs sont en baisse. Il y a aussi d'autres problèmes, tels qu'un taux élevé de conflits entre les pêcheurs en mer, le coût élevé pour acheter les bateaux, le combustible pour les moteurs hors-bord, et le matériel, ainsi que les dangers impliqués dans la pêche offshore (le piratage, et le vol prédial) ont créé de graves problèmes sociaux et économiques pour les pêcheurs. Néanmoins, il y a une tendance évidente chez les pêcheurs de quitter l'industrie ou de chercher du travail dans d'autres domaines. En fait, le Département des Pêcheries signale qu'il continue de recevoir des demandes de nouveaux permis pour opérer les bateaux de pêche. Ceci est probablement attribuable au fait que là où la base d'une communauté est la pêche, il est difficile d'y introduire des formes alternatives de travail, telles que l'industrie artisanale, l'artisanat de village ou d'autres métiers. Le Département des Pêcheries de la Jamaïque a préparé en 1987 un Projet de gestion qui proposait plusieurs mesures de conservation afin d'encourager l'utilisation efficace des ressources des pêcheries et de contrôler le développement de la Pêcherie de manière que le pays touche le plus de bénéfices. Une attention adéquate a été prêtée aux limitations sur les engins de la pêche, l'établissement de saisons de clôture et les législations associées. Des stratégies pour diversifier la pêche marine ont aussi été proposées. Le Plan de développement quinquennal de 1990 pour les pêcheries marines met l'accent aussi sur la gestion de ressources appropriée afin de faire reculer les tendances associées à la surexploitation des ressources marines. Selon le plan, l'accent sera mis sur les pêcheries intérieures et la mariculture afin de réduire la pression sur les pêcheries. Les pêcheries intérieures, sous la forme de l'élevage de poissons en eau douce, ont pris leur essor sur les 10 dernières années avec une production qui s'est élevée de moins de 0,5 millions de livres en 1980 pour atteindre en 1989 plus de 6.0 millions de livres. Cependant, certains pisciculteurs en eau douce expérimentent déjà une concurrence sérieuse avec les agriculteurs pour l'usage de l'eau et, dans une moindre mesure, de la terre. Le Ministère de l'Agriculture est de l'avis que l'élevage en cage marine a technologiquement le potentiel d'être introduit en Jamaïque. La technologie a été développée avec réussite en Norvège et plusieurs pays dans la région utilisent actuellement la technologie expérimentalement. La technologie, si elle était utilisée en Jamaïque, pourrait réduire de façon significative la pression sur les pêcheries, ce qui rendrait la pêche plus économique et améliorerait les rendements aux pêcheurs. Certaines capacités techniques et institutionnelles existent déjà en Jamaïque qui pourraient soutenir le développement de l'élevage en cage marine. Le Département des Pêcheries a un personnel bien formé en aquaculture et pêcherie marine, dont certains qui sont directement responsables du succès de la pisciculture en eau douce. Par ailleurs, le Laboratoire Marin à l'Université des Antilles (UWI) mène des recherches sur les installations d'écloseries pour l'élevage en cage marine. Le Département des Pêcheries demandera la collaboration de l'unité marine à l'UWI qui pourra fournir des saumoneaux d'espèces marines sélectionnées pour la cage 1.

Résumé : Le but de cet article est d’analyser la manière dont s’effectue la construction sociale et symbolique de l’identité des propriétaires de pensions touristiques de Maramureş en présence des touristes pendant la période d’abstinence, recueillement et préparation pour les Pâques, durant cette fête religieuse et les jours qui lui suivent. Partant d’une description socio-anthropologique des « ingrédients » de cette fête nous nous proposons d’en identifier les transgressions et leurs significations dans le contexte d’un tourisme rural de type familial. On essaie de comprendre « le comment » et « le pourquoi » des logiques qui se trouvent derrière l’instrumentalisation de certains symboles de cette fête religieuse dans la sphère privée d’identification. Nous supposons que la désobéissance à certaines pratiques coutumières liées à la fête religieuse répond à des besoins de marketing touristique. Au-delà de l’étude des mécanismes de « mise en scène » des éléments collectifs d’identification sélectionnés par les propriétaires de pensions touristiques, c’est bien la question d’identité qui est au cœur de notre propos.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the way in which the guesthouse owners from Maramureş carry out a social and symbolic construction of their identity in the presence of the tourists during the season of fasting, reflection and preparation before the celebration of Easter, during this religious holiday and the days after that. Starting from a socio-anthropological description of the “ingredients” of this religious holiday we aim at identifying its transgressions and their meanings in the context of the rural family-type tourism. We try to understand the “how” and the “why” of the logics which are behind the instrumentalisation of certain symbols of this religious holiday in the private sphere of identification. We assume that the disobedience to certain ancestral practices associated with this religious holiday answers the guesthouse owners’ tourism marketing needs. Behind the study of the mechanisms of “putting on display” items of collective identification selected by the guesthouse owners, it is the question of identity which is the heart of our reflection.

Understanding mechanisms in DSSCs is fundamental for their improvement; this includes the nanocrystalline semiconducting layer behaviour. Different mesoporous TiO2 layers are fabricated and analyzed for possible use in DSSC solar cells. The preparations included the addition of P123 triblock copolymer as structuring agent to the synthesized anatase sol. This preparation was also mixed with Degussa P25 TiO2 nanoparticles in one case and polystyrene latex in another. Mesoporous mixed TiO2-SiO2 thin layers were also analyzed. The diverse morphologies and features are studied by microscopic techniques and by means of spectral quantum efficiency of a photoelectrochemical cell (PEC) that uses as photoelectrode the unsensitized porous TiO2 layer. Contact angle measurements are also performed. We have found that a very high specific area due to very small nanocrystals and small pores can hinder electrolyte penetration in the pores formed by TiO2 nanograins, affecting photoelectrodes efficiency. © EDP Sciences, 2015.

Résumé : SODACAL prawn farm which was set up as a pilot farm for the development of a prawn industry in New Caledonia, saw its production exponentially rise from 1984 to 1992 (to 400 t/year, then experienced a sharp drop in 1993 (250 t/year) which carried on until 1997, and finally rose back to a stabilizing level around 400 t/year until 1999. The study analyses the difficulties observed before and during the drop of production. Among them, mortality outbreaks, other biological perturbations (benthic mat clearing and crab and fish mortality) and focus on the noxious state of the bottom (reduced and smelling sulfide hydrogen). It particularly shows that Syndrome 93 outbreaks could be observed on this farm from 1990. The analysis highlights the particular climatic conditions in New Caledonia from 1990 to 1995 (drought) and their potential impact on the production. The development of this very particular process of physical and topographic differential evolution of the pond bottom under wind action (accumulation and digging) and its consequences on pond preparation is explained. This work takes a close look at the grow-out management : age and quality of post larvae, pond stocking with pre-grown animals, feed characteristics and management, water exchange management and pumping capacity, strategy on density and size of harvested animals. The results have been assessed using a distinctive tool, the "survival differential", allowing inter-pond comparisons within a site, inter-farms comparisons over pluri-annual periods of time. >From the commented farm results over a 20 year period, we could distinguish the principal factors responsible for the drop of grow-out capacity of some ponds. We have outlined a conceptual description of the different parameters leading to the decrease of survival, an epidemiological scenario and a synoptic table of the history of events and their relative severity. The study draws the hypothesis of a cumulative effect of positive factors, which could have led back to satisfying production results: a physical and biochemical restoration of pond bottoms, a modified and standardized grow-out management, an appropriate pumping capacity and the come back of adequate climatic conditions. This case study illustrates the concept of « flexibility » of the farming capacity and the sustainability of prawn farming in New Caledonia. The clear objective of this 20 year historic investigation was to get relevant information, in order to improve the understanding on the "summer syndrome" which hits two farms at the moment, and to participate in the hypothesis under study by the DAC (2005). We also tried to make the new farmers aware of the fragility of the pond ecosystem, and give some common-sense advices in the hope that such problems will not happen again in other places.
La ferme de SODACAL, conçue à l'origine comme une ferme de démonstration pour le développement d'une filière d'aquaculture exportatrice de crevettes en Nouvelle-Calédonie a connu une phase de croissance exponentielle de sa production de 1984 à 1992 (jusqu'à 400 t/an), puis une chute brutale en 1993 (250 t/an) qui s'est prolongée jusqu'en 1997 et enfin une reprise à partir de 1998 pour arriver à une stabilisation autour de 420 t/an depuis 1999. L'étude inventorie les dysfonctionnements observés avant et pendant la crise de production. Parmi ceux-ci sont évoqués les épisodes de mortalité de crevettes, d'autres désordres biologiques (décollements de tapis benthique et « hécatombes » de crabes et de poissons), l'état délétère des fonds (sédiments réduits et odeur d'hydrogène sulfuré). Elle permet notamment de montrer que des épisodes de mortalité typiques du Syndrome 93 pouvaient être observés sur cette ferme dès 1990. L'étude met en évidence les conditions climatiques remarquables qui ont sévi en Nouvelle-Calédonie de 1990 à 1995 (sécheresse) et leur impact probable sur les élevages. La genèse du phénomène très particulier d'évolution physique et topographique des fonds des bassins par l'effet du vent (accumulation et creusement) et des conséquences sur la préparation des bassins est explicitée. Ce travail aborde la gestion zootechnique : l'âge et la « qualité » des post larves, la pratique des ensemencements à partir d'animaux pré grossis, la gestion de l'alimentation et la nature de la provende, le contrôle du renouvellement d'eau et la capacité de pompage, le choix des densités et du calibre des animaux récoltés. Les résultats ont pu être évalués à travers un outil original «le différentiel de survie », permettant des comparaisons inter-bassins au sein du site, inter-fermes à des périodes pluri annuelles distinctes. A partir des résultats commentés de la ferme obtenus sur 20 années, on a pu distinguer les principaux facteurs qui ont provoqué cette chute d'aptitude culturale de certains bassins. Un schéma conceptuel des différents paramètres ayant conduit à la baisse des survies, un scénario épidémiologique ainsi qu'un tableau synoptique de la chronologie des évènements et de leur relative sévérité sont esquissés. Le rapport ébauche l'hypothèse d'un cumul de causes favorables qui ont permis le retour à des résultats zootechniques satisfaisants : une réhabilitation physique et biochimique des fonds de bassins, une zootechnie modifiée et standardisée, une capacité de pompage adéquate et une climatologie de nouveau favorable. Cette étude de cas permet ainsi d'illustrer les notions d « élasticité » de l'aptitude culturale et de durabilité de la crevetticulture en Nouvelle-Calédonie. Le but de cette enquête historique sur 20 ans est l'acquisition d'informations pertinentes permettant d'améliorer la compréhension du « Syndrome d'été » qui affecte actuellement deux fermes de production et ainsi aider à compléter le scénario hypothétique avancé par le Dac (2005). Enfin, au travers de cet historique, on a cherché également à sensibiliser les nouveaux opérateurs de la filière sur la fragilité de l'écosystème-bassin et présenter quelques conseils de bon sens pour éviter que de tels phénomènes ne se reproduisent ailleurs.

"Protocols for field and laboratory rodent studies" present the best practices for the studies of rodents and rodent-borne pathogens and parasites from the field to the laboratory. It aims at covering the different steps of rodent studies: 1) Trapping, 2) Dissection and preparation of tissue samples for pathogens screening, 3) Identification of species, 4) Isolation of helminths, 5) Preparing rodent specimens for collections. This book gathers accurate recommendations and techniques, based on those generally accepted in the literature and adapted from the experience of the different authors during rodent surveys and laboratory work. Its presentation is designed to work in the fields with a clear and colorful organization of each chapter, with: inserts providing definitions and recommendations, protocols detailed step by step, and an emphasis on illustrations with several photographs. Abstract View references (38)Silicalite-1 (S-1) and ZSM-5 membranes prepared by secondary growth on tubular ceramic supports were tested using a pervaporation set up for the desalination of aqueous solutions containing NaCl in concentrations corresponding to brackish (0.3-1wt%), sea (3.5wt%) and brine (7.5-15wt%) water. ZSM-5 membranes delivered higher water fluxes when compared with S-1 membranes due to enhanced hydrophilicity of the Al-rich zeolite structure leading to fluxes as high as 11.5kgm -2h -1 for 0.3wt% NaCl feed solutions at 75°C. At higher salt concentration the water flux decreased alongside with the salt rejection rate, however the hydrophilic ZMS-5 membrane became more susceptible to performance loss, particularly at high temperatures. Detailed stability experiments carried out for up to 560h showed the dissolution of both S-1 and ZSM-5 top layers. This was attributed to the combined effects of ion exchange and water dissolution mechanisms. Interesting though, the MFI structure zeolite was still observed on the XRD patterns whilst EDX depth profile showed the presence of silica up to 30μm depth into the support. These results suggest the formation/infiltration of a compact amorphous phase in the substrate, derived from the aggregation of the dissolved silicate species and possibly together with the arrangement of MFI nano-slabs during the desalination tests. Despite generating lower water fluxes, the S-1 membrane exhibited relatively high robustness under the long term testing conditions which included temperature cycling, delivering salt rejections from initial >99% to <80% at the end of the testing period (560h). © 2012 Elsevier B.V.

Up to now, several studies have investigated estrogen receptor (ER)–estrogen response element (ERE) interaction using biosensors such as surface plasmon resonance. These strategies have aimed to understand the molecular mechanism of such interaction as well as the effect of the ligand on this interaction. These approaches start to be used to determine the mechanisms of protein/DNA interaction, in particular in the context of drug discovery or environmental applications. However, some physical and biochemical parameters (incubation time, temperature, protease inhibitor cocktail, and bovine serum albumin (BSA)) are not completely described in the literature and could deeply modify the obtained results. This paper aims to focus not only on the preliminary steps of sample preparation such as protein thawing and incubation conditions (time and temperature) but also on the evaluation of protease inhibitor cocktail and BSA effect on the measurement of ER–ERE interactions.

Résumé : A time when France, as well as Great Britain, had a very ambitious maritime policy, the La Pérouse expedition was the only maritime expedition conceived, designed and followed at a national level by the King himself, Louis XVI. The excellence of the Expedition's preparation and of its importance in terms of scientific results, the exceptional concern of La Pérouse in the fields of data gathering and transmission, his very high quality as captain of a global expedition, made it a remarkable achievement, despite its disastrous end.

In order to perform a human and ecological risk assessment of pharmaceutical products (PPs) in natural waters, it is necessary to accurately quantify a broad variety of PPs at low concentrations. Although numerous currently implemented analytical methodologies, less is known about the preservation of PPs in natural water samples within the period before analysis (holding time, storage conditions). This paper is the first literature review about the stability of PPs in natural waters (surface and groundwaters) during sample storage. The current work focuses on a comparison of the performances of the available preservation techniques (filtration, container materials, storage temperature, preservative agents, etc.) for PPs in samples. All 58 reviewed PPs may be successfully stabilized during 7 days in surface waters by at least one appropriate methodology regarding temperature, acidic and non-acidic preservatives. When temperature is not a sufficient preservation parameter f! or some PPs (hormones and fluoxetine) its combination with the addition of chemical agents into the samples may prolong the integrity of the PPs during storage in surface water. There is a strong need to use standard protocols to assess and compare the stability of PPs in environmental water matrices during storage as well as during analytical preparation or analysis (European criteria 2002/657/EC). Since the stability of PPs during sample storage is a critical parameter that could call into question the quality of the data provided for the concentrations, the design of stability studies should rigorously take into account all critical parameters that could impact the concentrations of the PPs with time.

Résumé : We report new measurements of the surface ionization Phi(0) for Ge K alpha and L alpha X-rays on an Fe substrate, Ga K alpha and L alpha X-rays on an Ni substrate, and Au M alpha X-rays on Si, W and Ta substrates. The measurements were performed using the tracer technique for electron incident energies ranging from the ionization threshold up to about 40 keV. Improvements in sample preparation and in the X-ray measurement technique enabled surface ionization values to be obtained with uncertainties less than 2%. Simulations of Phi(0) for the studied cases were performed using the general-purpose Monte Carlo (MC) code PENELOPE. Experimental measurements are compared with simulation results and with the results of several predictive formulae widely used in electron probe microanalysis and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). The accuracy of the reported measurements makes it possible to assess the reliability of the different calculations for incident electron energies below 10 keV.

This document proposes a new map of the Eastern Guyana Shield, with the SPOT4-VEGETATION remotesensed datas of the year 2000. A new synthesis method, with the mean value, was applied and compared with the Maximum Value Method (WVC). To prepare this datas for the synthesis, a cloud filter was defined :BSC (BEST Sky Clear). With this results, an ISODATA classification was proceeded, and, produces 25 classes to detail the tropical maist forest with the 1 km low resolution. To valid this result, this document propose a method with the higthresolution datas Landsat 7 ETM+. This method aims to guide the ground truth and goes thoroughly into the description of the moist tropical forest classes. The sample, used to try this method, shows the boundaries and the constraints of this method. This points are debating in the discussion. Finally, the perspectives to develop the method are presented in the conclusion.
Ce document propose une nouvelle cartographie du Bouclier Oriental Guyanais à l'aide d'images satellites SPOT4-VEGETATION de l'année 2000. Une nouvelle méthode de synthèse annuelle, utilisant la valeur moyenne de la radiométrie, a été appliquée et comparée à la méthode du Maximum Value Composite (MVC). A cette occasion, un filtre de nuage a été défini pour préparer les données à cette synthèse : le filtre BSC (Best Sky Clear). Sur la base de ce résultat, une classification ISODATA a été réalisée, produisant 25 classes, et mettant en évidence les différents milieux forestiers des tropiques humides à une résolution spatiale de 1 km. Pour valider la classification, une méthode est proposée utilisant des images hautes résolutions Landsat 7 ETM+. Cette méthode permet de cadrer les vérifications sur le terrain et d'approfondir la définition des classes de forêt tropicale humide. L'échantillon utilisé pour tester la méthode met en évidence les limites et contraintes de la démarche proposée. Ces points sont exprimés dans la discussion. Enfin les perspectives de développements sont abordées dans la conclusion.

Résumé : Because Vibrio aestuarianus is known to cause serious infections in Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas, a real-time PCR assay was developed targeting the dnaJ gene of this bacterium. Only V. aestuarianus strains isolated from C. gigas mortality events in different geographic areas and the reference strain tested positive, whereas no amplification products was obtained with type strains belonging to 23 other species of Vibrio. Sensitivity and reproducibility of the method were assessed using either seawater or oyster homogenate samples spiked with one V aestuarianus strain. All these samples were stored at -20 degrees C in order to mimic retrospective or grouped natural sample analysis without quantification bias due to prolonged freezing. Analysis of standard curves revealed excellent correlation values between light microscopy cell enumerations and PCR Threshold Cycle (Ct) values, and acceptable PCR reaction efficiencies for all type of samples. Quantification curves of both sample types were equivalent, with a detection level as low as 1.6 V. aestuarianus cells in the PCR reaction tube, corresponding to 1.6.10(2) cells ml(-1) and 1.6.10(2) cells mg(-1) in seawater and entire oyster samples, respectively, taking into account the dilution factor used for appropriate template DNA preparation. Comparison of PCR assay reproducibility according to the complexity of samples revealed that seawater samples gave more reproducible quantification measures than samples from oyster homogenate, with precision of measured Ct values inferior to 0.4 and 0.6 respectively at 99% confidence. Use of the real-time PCR assay allowed us to monitor V. aestuarianus load in oysters naturally infected with this pathogen. Furthermore, we were able to detect V aestuarianus in samples of seawater in which oysters had been reared and in algal cultures used for feeding oysters. Because of the rapidity and reliability of the real-time PCR assay method used in this study, just a few hours are needed compared with the two days required using the classic culture method, this technique will be particularly valuable in mollusc pathology laboratories, for monitoring the source and course of infections by V. aestuarianus in pathogenesis and epidemiologic studies, as well as for designing appropriate prophylactic control measures. This paper discusses and analyses the productivity of solar home systems in isolated areas in French Guiana, a region characterized by specific human and environmental conditions.Its aim is a better understanding of the attitudes, expectations, and relationship of the users towards the solar home system. The data collected made it possible to make suggestions for adapting the photovoltaic systems to their environment by taking into account social, cultural, and geoclimatic specificities. Analysis of on-site productivity provides valuable information on energy profiles and types of use. Field surveys made it possible to associate users’ perception of the energy production equipment and their degree of satisfaction with operating efficiency and on-site maintenance. This aspect is essential for analyzing the actual rate of use of the energy that is theoretically available.Parallel to these surveys, the results of the study carried out on the performance of the solar home systems made it possible to learn the quantitative aspects of the energy produced and consumed as well as the qualitative aspects of the parameters that condition the performance of the photovoltaic systems.After keyboarding, the subjective, qualitative as well as the quantitative variables were processed using a statistical analysis program in order to determine the correlations between them and to prepare the final conclusions.

Résumé : Preparative pyrolysis followed by liquid chromatographic separation and gas chromatography of hydrocarbons (Pyrolysis-LC-GC) were used to study the participation of terrestrial and/or aquatic compounds in the formation of humic substances in sediments. Analyses performed on humic substances from recent sediments sampled in the Elorn river estuary (France) show that these substances are similar in many respects to other lacustrine or marine humic substances, with regard, for instance, to their high nitrogen and sulphur content and their low aromaticity. Mass balances on pyrolysis products and group composition of the C-14+ fraction of the pyrolysates were performed. The distribution of the total alkane and alkene fraction, isocyclo alkanes and alkenes from these humic acid pyrolysates was compared to that of various reference humic acid pyrolysates. The biomarker study (distribution and hopanes/steranes ratios from humic acid pyrolysates) confirms the participation throughout the estuary of algal precursors in the formation of the studied compounds, irrespective of the location of the sampling zone (upstream, median or downstream part of the estuary).

Cet article contient des remarques sur les polygones croisés et le partage du plan par une droite. Après une introduction sur les parallélogrammes en cinquième et un rappel concernant des propriétés de convexité des demi-plans, il propose deux activités géométriques. La première met en jeu les pieds des bissectrices d'un triangle. La seconde propose une réflexion sur les diverses façons d'imaginer un polygone et sur la conséquence de ces définitions dans la recherche des isométries planes laissant un polygone globalement invariant. Ces deux activités peuvent, par exemple, être exploitées dans un TD de préparation au CAPES.

Résumé : In Suriname, Saramaka (descendants from fugitives slaves of the XVIIth century) still have a widely used traditional pharmacopoeia. The Bitter-cup is a good example because of the place it keeps on the Paramaribo's markets stands. We conducted an ethnopharmacological study in order to detail its uses: rum or water left to macerate in the cup overnight, the content is drunk straight in the morning either as a tonic, stomachic, febrifuge or antimalarial remedy. In order to close the controversy about its botanical origin, we proceeded to an anatomical study of woods and cups found at the market. Chemicals fingerprints by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) were simultaneously established. The two methods, complementary, allowed us to identify Quassia amara L. as cups source. In vitro assays of the macerates on Plasmodium falciparum did not show any antimalarial activity, while some fractions, obtained by semi-preparative HPLC, did show a high activity against parasites.
Les Saramaka du Suriname, descendants d'esclaves échappés des plantations au XVIIème siècle, ont une pharmacopée traditionnelle encore vive. Le Bitter-cup, ou " gobelet amer ", en est un exemple puisqu'il garde encore sa place sur les étals des marchés de Paramaribo. Nous avons mené une enquête ethnopharmacologique afin de détailler ses usages : mis à macérer pendant une nuit avec du rhum ou de l'eau, le contenu est bu d'un trait au matin comme tonique amer, stomachique, fébrifuge ou encore antimalarique. Pour mettre fin aux controverses que suscite sa provenance botanique, nous avons procédé à une étude anatomique du bois et des gobelets provenant du marché, ainsi qu'à l'établissement de signatures chimiques par Chromatographie Liquide Haute Performance (CLHP). Ces deux méthodes complémentaires nous ont permis d'identifier Quassia amara L. comme source des gobelets. Des tests in vitro sur Plasmodium falciparum n'ont pas confirmé l'activité antipaludique, mais après un fractionnement bioguidé par CLHP semi-préparative, certaines fractions se montrent très performantes contre les parasites.
